Scooby and Shaggy at Biff Bam Pop!
So far they've covered Buffy and Angel, Kitty Pryde and Colossus, Jabba the Hut and Salacious B. Crumb, and Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson
On February 5th, I got a chance to say a few words about everybody's favorite animated bromance, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. This boy and his dog, best friends, comrades in cowardice, and foodies supreme have been buddies since 1969. You can read my take on them, and the origins of the whole Scooby gang here.
And don't miss today's entry as author and guest-blogger Janice Gable Bashman takes a look at the tempestuous relationship of Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter and Clarice Starling. She even invites a few other notable writers to help her out. You can read it here.
Stay tuned to Biff Bam Pop! for more favorite pop culture couples throughout February until Valentine's Day!

Avengers Assemble!
Apparently the Superbowl was last night. Some folks were excited about the commercials. Some folks were excited about Madonna. Rumor has it there was even a pretty good football game last night. I didn't notice, especially seeing how neither the Philadelphia Eagles nor the Dallas Cowboys were involved. But I watched last night's Super Bowl too, but for none of the above - I watched it for The Avengers!
Yeah, baby! I absolutely can not wait until May fourth! Avengers Assemble!

Lost Hits of the New Wave #11
"Don't Say No to Me" by Lulu Temple
We've talked about Quincy before, and how I discovered college radio, it's all here. One of the most important things in college radio is support. Now I was involved with my college radio station, and it needed a lot of support.
I didn't go to the University of Pennsylvania with WXPN, Drexel with WKDU, Trenton State College with WTSR, or Princeton with WPRB. I went to Camden County College, yeah, thirteenth grade, and their radio station, FM mono WDBK, was, if anything, a weak second cousin to those big four of area college radio.
We needed a lot of support. So we featured a lot of local artists, among them, the former Quincy, who had formed very locally at Haddon Heights High School. Quincy had to change their name to Lulu Temple because of pressure from Quincy Jones, so their second release, Don't Say No, came out under that name. The album had a difference in sound as well with added horns. I dug the title song a lot and gave it much airplay.
